A

AI Studio

The Visor.ai platform tools you use to create and update the knowledge base that improves its AI algorithms.

API

(Application Programming Interface) is a set of operations and procedures that allow applications to access data or tools from operating systems, other applications, or services.

Artificial Intelligence

covers the fields of computing that enable systems to perform tasks and imitate human behaviour.

Automation

means carrying out tasks automatically. The term is closely tied to technologies and machines that perform tasks without human intervention.

B

Backoffice

is the platform a company uses to manage and organise operations that don’t deal directly with customers.

C–D

Chatbot

is a conversational bot that talks to people by chat. If it uses artificial intelligence, it can understand and learn from the messages it receives.

Cloud-based

refers to software or platforms hosted in the cloud (on third-party servers) and available over the internet. With cloud-based services, you don’t have to worry about the maintenance of the servers and other details, as the providers take care of it.

Conversational AI

covers the AI disciplines, such as NLP and machine learning, that let bots communicate naturally with their users.

Conversational API

is a Visor.ai API that allows us to integrate our platform with external channels and thus improve the user experience. For example, it is often used to integrate with apps.

D

Deep Learning

also known as Deep Structured Learning, is part of the Machine Learning field that is based on artificial neural networks. It can be supervised, semi-supervised or unsupervised learning.

Machine Learning

is the ability of a machine to learn from the input it receives, without being explicitly programmed.

N

NLP

(Natural Language Processing) is the area of Artificial Intelligence that allows systems to process human language in written text.

NLU

(Natural Language Understanding) is the branch of AI that allows machines to extract information from what has been said or written. NLU focuses on meaning: the context and the intent behind the words.

No-code Platform

is a platform that needs little or no technical input, so anyone can use it without technical or programming knowledge.

O–P

O

OCR

(Optical Character Recognition) is the technology that gives machines the ability to recognize text in images or documents.

Q–R

R

RPA

(Robotic Process Automation) is software programmed to perform basic, repetitive tasks automatically on large volumes of data.

S–T

S

Sales leads

are potential customers who have shared their details and asked for more information about your product or service.

SFTP

(Secure File Transfer Protocol) is a protocol for transferring files over the internet and, on the Visor.ai platform, the tool you use to schedule automatic exports of Analytics and History files.

Speech Recognition

is the ability of a machine to recognize and respond to spoken human language, as opposed to written language.

Speech-to-Text

(STT) is the technology that enables machines to convert speech (audio) into text.

T

Text-to-Speech

(TTS) is the technology that enables machines to convert text into speech (audio).

U–W

V

Voice Bot

is a conversational bot that communicates by speech rather than text. Chatbots use text messages; voice bots understand and respond to spoken commands.

VPC

(Virtual Private Cloud) is an isolated cloud within a public cloud. By having your services in a VPC, you do not share any computing services with other entities.

VPN

(Virtual Private Network) is a secure private network encrypted over a public network. VPN data that passes over the public network is not visible to third parties, since it is encrypted.
